Starting the 2017 school year, the Blackstone Police Department announced the important position of a School Resource Officer. With the help from all district schools, the Superintendent and the Police Chief, Officer David Laudon was selected to be the School Resource Officer (SRO). The officer selected attended school to certify him as an SRO. This officer acts as a liaison between the schools, it’s employee’s and children and the Police Department. The SRO receives ongoing training and education to ensure the students and faculty in the district are safe. The SRO acts as a leader, role model, teacher, and a police officer students and faculty can feel safe talking to. The Blackstone Police Department is proud to offer its residents a specialty position that ensures the safety and happiness of our cherished children.
