Arrests Part of Ongoing Drug Enforcement Effort by BPD
BLACKSTONE — Chief Gregory Gilmore reports that Blackstone Police have arrested two people as part of the department’s ongoing drug enforcement effort.
DANIELLE PERRY, AGE 48, OF BLACKSTONE was charged with Distribution of Class B Substance (Cocaine). PERRY was arrested on Nov. 26 following the execution of a search warrant at her home on Canal Street in Blackstone.
MALDA TYKS, AGE 44, OF BLACKSTONE was charged with Distribution of Class A Substance (Fentanyl). TYKS was arrested on Oct. 18 following the execution of a search warrant at her home on Main Street in Blackstone. TYKS is known to Blackstone Police.
The arrests come as part of a larger drug enforcement effort being conducted by the Blackstone Police over the past several months under the direction of newly appointed Chief Gilmore.
The enforcement effort has included the execution of multiple warrants and the arrests of multiple individuals believed to be involved in the alleged possession, sale and distribution of various narcotics, including cocaine, heroin and fentanyl in the Blackstone area in recent weeks and months.
“Upon taking office, one of my immediate priorities was to ramp up narcotic enforcement in the community,” Chief Gilmore said. “As a former member of the Blackstone Valley Drug and Counter Crime Task Force, I’ve seen firsthand how aggressive interdiction can reduce local drug use and distribution. These deadly drugs pose a danger to this community and our department will continue to actively and aggressively seek out and prosecute anyone endangering the health and welfare of the citizens of Blackstone.”
Chief Gilmore would like to thank the members of the Blackstone Police Department and the Blackstone Valley Drug and Counter Crime Task Force, detectives from the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early’s office and members of the local FBI High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) group for their continued assistance in the counterdrug effort.
The enforcement operation remains active and ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
