The Blackstone Police Department invites the community to take part in the Security Camera Registration Program. This program allows residents and business owners to register the locations of their video surveillance systems with the Blackstone Police Department to help deter and fight crime in the community.
Through this camera registration program, Blackstone Police will be able to identify locations of cameras that are nearby crime scenes and contact residents for video surveillance footage.
There is absolutely no cost to register your security camera. Registration is completely voluntary and you can cancel your registration at any time.
Once registered, a member of the Blackstone Police Department will contact you to verify your information.
After signing up and verifying your information, you will only be contacted by Blackstone Police if there is an incident in the vicinity of your security cameras. In the event that a crime occurs near your registered camera, you may be contacted by Blackstone Police who will request a copy of video and/or images captured by your cameras over a designated time period that could assist in an investigation.
Questions about the program, registering your security camera or canceling your registration can be directed to Chief Gregory Gilmore at Chief@blackstonepolice.org.
